How much does it cost for a set of patent drawings?

Our rates range from $50.00 to $200.00 per sheet, depending on the complexity of the design. Upon receiving your request, we will evaluate your specifications and quote a price that is fair and competitive.

If I supply my own CAD drawings what format should they be in?

The following is a list of the drawing formats WestWing Patent & Trademark Illustrators can accept:

AutoCAD 2013 (dwg, dxf)
Pro Engineer
Catia
Solid Works
IGES files
STEP files

We also accept Visio, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat files.

How can I keep my drawing costs down?

By having a clear idea of what you want to be drawn. Also providing us with CAD files, blueprints, a model (if available) can substantially reduce your per sheet charge.

What media can you accept drawings on?

We accept drawings on all of the most popular storage devices. We can also prepare drawings using photographs. We receive most of our work via e-mail using one of the aforementioned formats.

How much time do you need to complete a set of patent drawings?

Two weeks is a comfortable amount of time to complete a set of patent drawings. If for any reason you need your drawings before that, arrangements can be made.

Do you keep electronic copies of the drawings you prepare?

Yes, we do. If you need a copy of your drawings a year after we completed them, we will provide you with one at no charge. If you client files multiple patent applications we can also use some of the older drawings to create the new ones should they be similar. Needless to say, this lowers the cost of the work.

How much does WestWing Patent & Trademark Illustrators charge for changes to drawings that have already been completed?

WestWing Patent & Trademark Illustrators does not charge for minor changes and/or corrections to existing drawings. There will be a charge if the changes include additional figures. Normal rates apply.
